What are those cheap £9.99 camping stoves like?

to be honest it depends what your using it for, I use just the removable cooking head that you just attach to a small gas can and they work a treat. I'm in the army and use that on exercise for cooking rations and heating water etc
Absolutely FINE I've had one ages & ages they do exactly what it says "on the tin"☺☺☺ Buy one, you wont be sorry !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They use Butane and Butane is no good when cold. when the gas is released from the cylinder the remaining gas expands and chills, reducing the efficiency of the cylinder. This is not a big problem on a warm summer day, but on a cold day you will see the flame die down even when set to maximum (especially when set to maximum).
You can get around this by changing cylinders when the flame starts to die and letting the first one warm up again. They are usually sold in packs of five anyway.
If you can live with this shortcoming then they are pretty good value for the money if you only want a cheap stove for occasional use.
There are much better stoves on the market, but they all cost more money.

Cheap? I got a camping stove head from Newson's for £3.99 two years ago.
Cylinders a £1 if you look around. Works fine. I take it up the glen with me, to save the good stove.
Stir fry in the woods. Omelettes, all sorts. No problems at all. Woks go well on camping stoves...small ones, 10 inch. Big ones are OK on big stoves...they need the heat.
Don't read under the third bit...you'll throw up or something. Have a blue fit. It's yeuugh! stuff.
Third bit is OK.....wok stuff. Big flaring up one....cool cook. Sweatin' cobblers probly
Under that bit .....it's all 'orrible stuff and then illegal stuff.
We had to...it was Jungle School and that. Anyway we don't get enough in UK at night.
Starve on it.
And we get corn flakes in the shops......
